The Hampton Roads Sports Commission, in conjunction with Water Country USA, will host the inaugural Water Country USA Kids Triathlon. The Water Country USA Kids Triathlon offers youth athletes, experienced and first-timers alike, the unique opportunity to swim, bike and run in and around Water Country USA.
Boys and girls ages 6-10 (junior varsity division) and 11-14 (varsity division) are eligible to participate. Registrants receive a complimentary ‘Stay & Play’ ticket to Water Country USA, valid on June 1 or June 2, 2019 only. All participants receive a race-day ‘Swag Bag’, including an official race shirt, in addition to a finisher’s medal upon completion of the race. The top three male and female finishers in each age group category will earn a trophy. The five age categories are 6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. The age group of a participant will be determined by age on Dec. 31 of the event year.
Event: Water Country USA Kids Triathlon
Course Distances: Swim - 210 meters, Bike - 1.6 miles, Run - 0.5 miles. ALL athletes will follow the same course.Athletes will still be split into two different divisions so that they are competing with similar aged individuals.

Online Registration for the 2019 Water Country USA Kids Triathlon will close at 11:59 PM on Thursday, May 30. You may register at packet pick-up on May 31 but there will not be Race Day registration available.
*Registration fees apply. Additional Water Country USA Stay & Play tickets available for purchase during registration at a discounted price ($30). All participants are required to have a valid USA Triathlon Youth Annual Membership.
**Helpful Information for Enjoying the Park After the Race:
Because this is an early morning event, Water Country USA is going to kindly require everyone who came to the Kids Triathlon to actually exit the park after the race ends at 9:45am. Everyone Will be allowed to get right in line outside at the gate and re-enter the park when it officially opens to the public, at 10am. Bring your season passes if you already have them, or you may buy additional tickets for friends and family that morning after the race, outside of the park at the ticket booth by the entrance gate. All official race participants will have received a free day pass to the park!
