Event Details

Join artist Bryan Treakle during this four-session, once-a-week course on Saturdays from July 3-July 24 to make your very own hand-built teapot!

Bryan will guide students to having a better appreciation for the material as well as a tangible object that you have invested your time into to take home! All levels welcome!

Students will learn how to make coils, slabs, and pinch-pots to make geometric clay forms (cubes, cylinders, and spheres) and will learn the various stages of greenware (wet to leather-hard to bone-dry). Afterwards, students will design and construct a teapot using the basic clay manipulation techniques and stages of clay dryness. Once bonedry, students will get to fire their pieces to ^04 (bisque-ware) and discuss hot (glaze) and cold (paints or resins) finishes.

*Optional glaze firing requires one additional week to be ready for pick up. Glazes limited to availability at time of workshop.

**Class size limited to 6 people. For ages 15+.

Time: 3-5 pm

Event Dates:
