Jaden is a native of Massachusetts, Jordan Tavan is a sculptor primarily working in glass and ceramics. He began working with ceramics in 2004, and discovered glass in 2015. Inspired by the similarities of the two mediums, and their potential for material ambiguity, Jordan combines them into unified sculptures. Jordan graduated from Tulane University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. A sociological perspective on the nuances of identity and perception informs his recent work. Jordan's work was selected for the Tulane University Undergraduate Student Juried Art Exhibition 2016-2018, and in 2018 received the Juror's Award. In April 2019 he received the Juanita Gonzalez Memorial Award for Ceramics. Currently, Jordan works as a Studio Assistant at Chrysler Museum Glass Studio and teaches ceramics at several locations in the area.
